“A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose” wrote Gertrude Stein in 1913. Whoa people! I say maybe yes . . . mm . . . maybe no. She also referred to life and things in general as “it is what it is”. Again . . . I say maybe.

Take the napkin ring shown above. What do I see? I see a bouquet of flowers that has gathered a napkin. The pink napkin is for dinner . . . now look closer. . . tucked inside of the dinner napkin is a white crocheted dessert napkin. So you see . . . things are not always what they appear to be.
The tablescape seen below is one of mixed fresh flowers, pastel colored candles, touches of fresh cut greens from the garden. For a true breath of fresh air, I added stemware of pastel colors, dinnerware in fresh yellow, crisp white, lime and sage green. Hand thrown pots in shades of turquoise bring this flower garden tablescape to the peak of perfection.
