Dishing it up/ with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile…
and see what I’m bringing to the table®

Dads are no longer the “get him a tie for fathers day” generation .   .   . Mm mm .   .   . no no .   .   . as the old advertisement said .   .   .  they’ve come a long way baby! ! Today’s dad is hipper, hands on, and happier than in prior generations. They not only share the parenting, but the everyday household ho hum activities that must be done. Besides keeping the house and kiddies of all ages functioning, dad keeps bringing home the bacon, while mom in many instances shares in the same responsibility of bringing home the eggs, and not necessarily in an egg carton. And your question of where am I going with this .   .   . really?

Many of you out there, wherever there may be, are running for the barbie .   .   . right? Hmm .   .   .  let’s see, I have stripped you of your tie shopping, on top of which I am hinting at no cheffing at the old outdoor barbie (aka barbecue ) for dad. Yikes!!! Yes, yes, I hear some of you screaming .   .   . OMG what’s left ??? Thinking out-of-the-box is what is left, which by the by, covers a whole lot more dancing than the tie/barbie two step!  Now I’m not suggesting a day spa for the majority of your dads, although in some instances it would be considered a gift from the gods. I personally believe that the best gift to give to anyone is the gift of change. Change from the expected, and what some of you think of as the tried and true. Dads deserve to be set free, to revel in the sunshine of Dad’s day .   .   . and be pampered!!!

Sooo .   .   . with out so much as a drum roll .   .   . (wait .   .   . whoever just threw me a quick drum roll, bless you) .   .   . I offer a table fit for a king. Setting it up inside or outside is not of great importance.  Creating a visual that screams, shouts, and says .   .   . just how special, and appreciated Dad is to you and yours, is where it’s at!!! A table set not for outside company, but for Dad! A table that is covered in what is usually reserved for “special occasions,” now says that “you Dad, are special.”  Dad can come as he pleases, in shorts, jeans, or decked out. It’s not about how he shows up to the table, but what the table shows him. The above table has a needlepoint hunting lodge scene, topped off with a mix of vintage, and new jewel toned dishes, cut crystal, and accessories. What’s for dinner??? Anything his little heart desires! Happy Father’s Day !!!

AHHH yes .   .   . my book .   .   . I AM SOOO LUCKY !!! stay tuned 🙂 !
