Layer .   .   .  layer .  .   .  layer .   .  .

Yes !! .   .   . YES !!

Pahleeeeez  by all means layer your plates, layer your table linens .   .   .

                  NOW it’s time to .   .   . mix up your glasses

It’s one of the simpler parts of creating a table setting .  .   . really .  .  . promise.

The glasses above are suitable for water, red and white wine, and champagne. These particular glasses are an interesting mix of a deeply cut champagne flute, green tinted tall goblet great for water and/or wine, a cut crystal tumbler super for a hearty red wine, and last but not least the simplest of white wine glasses available.

Try mixing up different heights for a more interesting look. I personally have no problem putting an expensive antique hand etched goblet next to a bargain basement tumbler, mixed with a simple generic looking wine glass.

There have been times when I have set out all four options for one dinner. Remember .  .  . not everyone drinks only red  wine. Some people prefer white wine or champagne, and of course don’t forget a glass of good ole H2O.

There are a myriad of choices to be had out in the marketplace. Be it a tabletop specialty store, flea market, discounter, garage sale .   .   . or if your very lucky .   .    . grandmas stemware. Think in terms of pieces not sets .   .   . I have bought gorgeous bar glasses at garage sales that only numbered three pieces .   .   . no worries, I know they will always work with something, sometime, somehow.

One dollar or a hundred dollars .    .    . it’s still in the presentation .   .  . not the price tag.

Soooooooo .   .   .  go ahead take your glasses out of the cupboard, move them around,    mix’em up .   .   .  step out of the box  .   .   . dare to create .   .   .

Each place setting does not have to be the same, in order to create a great looking table . In fact .   .   .  the more you mix them up, the more interesting and inviting your table will become.
