Come sit with me for awhile and…
and see what I’m bringing to the table
Setting a table is like building a house. Plates, silverware, and glasses are the walls . . .
Once you’ve got your walls up . . . it’s time to turn this puppy into a home!
It’s all about the infusion of color mixed with the unexpected. . . The vibrant colored leaf shaped plate, dusted with a touch of dried leaves, wheat, and a strand of mini cranberry colored berries.
The center pieces are 2 lamp shades . . . SURPRISE !!! . . .
I filled 2 shades with fresh, dried, and faux flowers, and foliage. So vibrant, and so, soooooo simple. It’s beginning to look like a home.
WAIT!!!!!!! . . . your not done yet . . .
. . . where’s the sparkle … the comfort … the drama … the romance … the adventure …
For sparkle you need to wash your glasses/stemware … that’s right you read it right … hot soapy water, then rinse in the hottest water your little hands can stand, invert and let them air dry for the most incredible sparkle possible. Wait till you see the candle flames dancing off your glasses. (By the by … it’s good to mix your glasses up… color, size, and shape).
Comfort is a biggy … throw pillows will add super comfort to dinning chairs, soften the look and make the setting even more inviting. I also keep a stack of throws on a side table, for those that need that extra warmth.
For drama and romance … there are candles . . . lots and lots and lots of wonderful candles………….Votive cups, candle holders for tapers (mix sizes and shapes ), and pillars. The key here is to place them strategically so as NOT to block sight lines between guests, while allowing candle light to flatter your guests. . .
Atmosphere … soft piano/guitar music in the background.
Now it’s time to welcome your guests and let the ADVENTURE begin!!!
More next week…

Beautiful and wonderful ideas!! D
