Dishing it up/ knock on wood

Come sit with me for awhile and…

and see what I’m bringing to the table

Daylight disappears with the blink of an eye .   .   .

Night closes in bringing that distinct fall nip in the air .    .    .

This seasonal cycle dictating the craving for warmth, hearty sustenance, and earthly pleasures.

When thinking fall gatherings .   .   . think rich harvest colors, well worn copper, mixed with rich seasoned wood trays and bowls.

Don’t have well worn copper, and wood .    .   . no problem .    .    . really!

Table settings are much like cooking, in that, substitutions are expected, not unusual, and often altered according to needs and/or availability.

You guessed it! It’s time to improvise .   .   . Look to the back of your cupboards .   .  . way, way, back in your cupboards. Those odd mismatched plates will be perfect… go ahead take them out, lay them out, and  wash them out… Ahhhh, you see. .   .    . possibilities abound. Those long forgotten odds n’ ends will be perfect, I promise…  Think of them as ‘almost’ missed opportunities, not mismatched old plates. Now fill some different size bowls with pears, apples, pomegranates, a whole fragrant pineapple, sprinkle with unshelled nuts, and you are very good to go.

PS don’t forget lots of candles!

Until next week
