Come sit with me for awhile and…

see what I’m bringing to the table

While I love creating sit down table settings .  .  . There’s  just something about buffets that hold an allure of total abandon .   .   .  NO restrictions as to how high, wide, or intricate the layout can be !!!!!!!……. YES! .  .  . Praise be .   .   . I can decorate, and load that puppy till it screams ENOUGH!!!!!!!

To create this particular main center piece I combined faux, dried, and fresh flowers with greens, in a copper flower bucket, much like what you would find on the sidewalks of Paris. I then added 16 candle holders of varying sizes and visual interest, along with a dozen or so gold, silver, and copper decorated votive holders .  .   .

Centerpiece done .   .   . Let the games begin  .  .  . it’s time for another of my faves… layering, and layering, and yes you got it, layering some more! Step way out of the box on this part… NO BORDERS… NO RULES… just pure imagination rules here.

When serving more than one main dish, serve them at opposite ends of the buffet in order to keep the flow, and avoid crowding.

Party favors are always a great way to finish off the evening…

For one party, I bought bags of small unscented pine cones on the cheap… and I mean cheap! 99cent store kind of cheap… bought a bottle of apple scented oil, … again cheap. Put all the pine cones into a trash bag, sprinkled them with a few drops of apple oil, and lightly sprinkled with glitter dust, and then finished by shaking the bag much like breading chicken. Final step is what I call ‘the pretty step’…I divided them into manageable piles (tiny ones 3-4) depending on size and gathered them up in colored netting (silk, cheese cloth) tied them off with different colored ribbons… filled a copper bowl near the front door for go-to-home favors.

See last weeks post for another possible go-to-home favor.

More next week…
