When you add soft candlelight, tapas and subdued classical flamingo guitar, and gently stir .   .   . what do you get? Why romance of course! Romance that oozes on and off the streets of Madrid. Just a mere couple of steps off  beautiful cobble stone streets finds one enveloped in the very essence of this wonderful city steeped in history. Beneath this evening of calm, lurks a smoldering excitement laced with electrical currents quietly waiting for sunrise. But wait let’s not get ahead of ourselves, the evening is young and there are glasses to be refilled and plates of new found delights to enjoy! Ahhh .   .   . magical Madrid bursting with winding cobble stone streets dating back to the 1500’s (and earlier) has been patiently waiting to take you on your next adventure.

The photo above is a re-enactment of one of the many delicious morsels served while exploring Madrid. At home I commandeered one of my vibrant glass pedestal dishes and filled it with my interpretation of shrimp à la Madrid. Olives, shrimp, cheese crumbles, chopped chives, blended with olive oil and lemon and garnished with marinated cherry peppers.
