Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

Gardens, whether secret or not, seem to hold a mysterious fascination for most of us. Maybe it’s all about the shadows created by the layers of greenery, seeming to be growing haphazardly, or is it all the nooks, crannies, and what is hinted at, but not quite reachable?

Hmm .   .   . well I for one, am most fascinated by the shadows playing out as the sunlight makes it’s usual journey across my garden. Having said all of the above, I decided to take advantage of our unbelievably fantastic California weather, and have a brunch for four outside.

This is an easy-peasy, low key relaxing event. I used an off white vintage cloth crochet trimmed, botanical/floral motif napkins, and vibrant green, and white stripped  dishes, for the pop. Next I added my sweet hand painted, not so easy to find salad plates, that I was lucky enough to buy for pennies, at a garage sale many years ago. Yes, yes, I hear all of you .   .   . true, true the bad news is .   .   . it’s not so easy to find beauties like the dishes below, in such great shape these days .   .   . agreed!  BUT .    .   .  you don’t need matchy, matchy .   .   . remember? Just find one, or two plates that are in good shape at a time. Gather them in your travels, be it in your neighborhood, or on a weekend adventure. Remember .   .   .  one lonely plate that makes you happy, or makes a statement, can and will be used to commingle with your other treasures. .   .   . mix, mix, mix!!!
