Reporting for Autumn watch duty .   .   . ready or not!

How can that be??? It’s hovering at 90 degrees! Autumn is all but leaping off the calendar. What?  You don’t hear it? Wait. Take a second and listen. Shhh. Shhh. Please listen. There. There it is again! It’s screaming come September 23rd .   .   . I’m coming to town. Hmmm. We’ve already had a few sightings of leaves dusting the sidewalks that now happily are a part of my centerpiece. Strands of burnished gold leaves shimmer in concert amid ‘the magic dance of the flames’.

As your self-appointed ‘Autumn fairy-godmother’ it’s time to start thinking .   .   .  falling leaves, chilly nights, roaring fires, hearty dinners, and candlelight, all brought together for those fuzzy friendly gatherings. Please read on …

For my first of too too many to count upcoming fall gatherings I covered the table with my leaf embroidered Italian linen cloth. To put everyone into the mood, I mixed harvest motif dinner plates, hand-made glazed leaf shaped salad plates, and lime-yellow crackle glass bowls that serve as t-lite holders. To add some flattery, and glam I punched the color up with shades of eye-catching green water and wine stemware.
