Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table®

Mother Earth’s Offerings served up in a 100 year old cherry pickers presentation basket .  .  .

It’s hard getting ready for the deep rich tones of fall when the sun is shinning and throwing rays of 90 plus degrees at you! Sooo .   .   . as a compromise I offer you a peek above as to what’s coming up.

Someone just asked what’s a presentation basket? Wellll all of my eco-friendly, earth-concerned/conscious people let me tell you a ‘bygone-day story’ that goes like this. In the golden-olden days, before sealed in plastic grab-and-go, pre-made, flash-frozen, drive-thru, text or email your wish list to be delivered or picked up, there was such a thing as display pieces. Display pieces made from wicker, wood, and yes glass, that held various selections of fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, and salads to take-away as apposed to takeout. Take a second, close your eyes and travel down my ‘sweet street of memory lane’. Try and picture the days of country fruit stands by the side of the road, or the city green grocer presenting its small square wooden baskets holding ruby red cherries, plump juicy strawberries, and all of the delicious fruits summer serves up for your pleasure. Hang on! The best part .   .   . the final step is yet to come .   .   . the culmination of all your tasting and selecting .   .   . the purchase. Oh no, no .   .   . not just a purchase but the prize .   .   . that sweet little square wooden basket (not made of plastic). Wow, and it was yours to keep or not!

Fall here we come!!!

  1. I love fruit stands. There are still a few on the way to visit my husband’s home town and I always stop. TFS
