I you find yourself in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, or Missouri come March 5th, then I can guarantee you that there will be dancing in the streets, in your future. Yup! No doubt about it! Mardi Gras is a seriously celebrated holiday, filled with bright colored beads, costumes, hot colored feather boas, masks, and noise makers, that rival the whoop-lala and tinsel experienced in Times Square on New Years Eve.

I heard that! Of course, some of you may be within blinking distance of this convivial happening. If this is the case, then I say .   .   . fantastic .   .   . and lucky you! Buttt .   .   . if you fall within the category of the not-so-fortunate then I say read on.

The photo below gives you a fun way to throw your own Mardi Gras celebration without leaving town. Here is what made this tablescape sooo easy. I gathered up neck chains and grabbed a few of my doodad charm necklaces, hi tone colored feathered boas, and a vibrant sequin cap to begin to set the stage for Mardi Gras. The key to giving this particular setting a big punch, comes from using pure white dinner plates, which act as a brilliant pop of color peeking out from beneath the boas. By using white square dinner plates, layered with hand painted square salad plates, I then topped it all off  with smaller squares to hold appetizers. To take this setting over the top, I used my hand-worked napkin rings as seen below. These gorgeous French embroidered napkins in red, are just the perfect showcase for my new one-of-a-kind handmade napkin rings. Leather, snake skins, rhinestones and jewel toned beads give this tablescape what I call the
