Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

Soups on! With thermometers dipping into the single digits and lower, the first thing that comes to my mind is hot, hot, hot soup!

The photo above exudes promises of cozy filled, tummy satisfying, warm the cockles of your heart moments in front of the fireplace.

Good, healthy nourishing hot soul satisfying soup. You can buy it in a can, pick it up at your nearest and dearest deli counter, have it delivered .   .   .  or .   .   . you can even whip some up yourself. OMG! Yikes! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you! Please don’t panic. Yes I did say .   .   . whip some up yourself! What? No, no, no. Relax making your own soup was merely a passing thought, an error in judgment, a  .   .   . what was I thinking moment .   .   . really.

Let’s get back to the warm fuzzy side of my story. Thanks. There are thousands of bowls, cups, and mugs out in the marketplace. You can even pick them up at a flea market. Ceramic bowls and mugs are the super champs when it comes to retaining the heat for long periods of time. Another tip to optimal hot soup is either running your bowl/cup/mug under hot, hot water before filling .   .   . or nuke it! The mug below is my all time must have favorite ‘holder of the soup’. You know .   .   .  it’s like your old blankie, or favorite stuffed animal.  We are all seeking comfort in this crazy topsy-turvy world of today .   .   . I say home hearth and soup!!!

  1. You had me laughing out loud Sharon. I hope you didn’t insult anyone by suggesting they “whip up their own soup”. 🙂 I like to come up with new tablescapes too. Sounds like an interesting book. TFS
