Tuesday February 5th begins the Chinese New Year celebration, for those who observe this important, delicious and very exciting night with their families. The year of the pig is thought to bring great luck. Those born under this sign are said to have a beautiful personality with good fortune in life.

A whole fish is always served with dumplings and sticky rice cakes for prosperity. For the young or newly married red envelopes are filled with money to usher in great prosperity.  Below is a sample setting for this years Chinese New Year. Mmm my bad  .   .   . can we just pretend that the chicken in the photo below is really a pig??? Oh pleeeease what/who can it hurt? Phew .   .   . thank you!
