5,964 air miles from Prague to Los Angeles, would leave pretty much anyone of us glassy-eyed and disheveled .   .   . with one great exception, Griszelda. Having taken her place at my table, Griszelda never fails to perform her well earned ‘Feisty Witch of the East’ yearly shenanigans!

Above Griszelda sits resting, and waiting for this buffet table to be readied for Halloween. Hello .  .   . footnote to the unsuspecting .   .   . people do not be fooled by this witch’s relaxed demeanor. She has been given the job of overseeing her special witch’s brew that only gets served on very special nights during the year. Her witch’s brew you ask? Oooo, ummm.  Yes, I would love to give you her recipe .   .   . but, well you know how scary witches can be. So in order to stay on the good side of Witch Griszelda .   .   . I suggest that we move on! Phew!!!

Of course boys and girls .   .   . there are also good witches, as seen below. Now this witch is of a totally different mind set, and goes by the name of ‘Witch Happy’. “The Contented Witch of the West”. What sets her apart from Griszelda? Oh that’s an easy one to answer. ‘Witch Happy’ contentedly watches my every move throughout the year while perched on a ledge above my stove, except on special occasions, such as Halloween and my foodies night. Griszelda, unlike Happy, hangs off my pot rack, high above the daily goings-on in my kitchen. Her taking flight at any given moment is always a high possibility.  Yes, agreed  .   .   .
