Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®
Sooo you think you’ve seen it all? Hmm . . . I see. Did I just hear some of you giving yourselves a pat on the back? Wait, hang on. Phew. O k, I’m done giggling. Didn’t your parents teach you, that not all that glitters is gold? Or you should look before you jump? The photo below is a mere sliver of the whole picture. This tablescape centerpiece has been cropped from ‘the whole picture’ so to speak. Yes, yes . . . I heard you. What’s my point? Fair enough. I started this centerpiece with the simplest of materials. An inexpensive hand-thrown clay pot, filled with a sprinkling of white roses from my garden. Glowing charcoal colored candles sit in a vintage Reed & Barton pewter candle-holder, found in a flea market years ago. What was that? How much? Hold onto your hats . . . because . . . I paid a whopping $7.00. Talk about who should give themselves a pat on the back!

Ahhh . . . below is the whole picture. I added a second taller black vase and filled it with beautiful hot pink roses, and additional white roses. There are two ingredients, mixed in with the flowers, that cost me pennies. For a soft frilly look, I bought a stalk of fennel, and a bunch of carrots. What could be better than the fresh smell of fennel mixed with carrot tops, (that I will use tomorrow) while eating dessert?
