Who doesn’t love ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s? Nooo? Hmmm. Well, I sure do. When it comes to my tablescaping expertise the ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s resonate like a thousand trumpets heralding the queen. Oh please, don’t be silly .   .   . I don’t expect a standing ovation .  .   . just a few ooooo’s and ahhhhh’s will keep my heart purring like a finely tuned engine! Yes, yes, I heard you .   .   . agreed, enough about me, me, me, and more about… this season’s festivities.

Shown in the photo below is an example of one of my mini-gatherings that has been an absolute tried and true winner .   .   . coffee, dessert and an interesting selection of after dinner liquors served up buffet style.

This is the busiest and dizziest time of the year. Shopping for those special someones, while still finding time to enjoy friends, it can become a Herculean task to put it mildly. I have found one of the best way to be the hostess with the mostest is to have mini-gatherings. A what??? Easy people, stay calm .   .   . give me a sec. to elaborate. By having small gatherings of six people, it not only makes the prep time  more than manageable, it also gives your guests more one-on-one time with you.

Not interested in coffee at the end of the evening. I hear you. One of my other mini-gathering winners is .   .   . a variety of dessert cheeses, garnished with fresh figs, or fig jam, and sliced pears. Now add a crunchy baguette and chilled champagne. Voilà! Bon appétit.
