Dishing it up with / Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

Sooo .   .   .what are you leaning toward?  Falling in like, totally liking, in a budding friendship, thinking about the next step, being head-over-heels in love, or .   .   . getting ready to unleash some deep unadulterated passion. What was that? That’s all some of you have? A few indistinct mumbles, and grumblings, and a whole lot of silence!  Easy people .   .   . I’m merely asking in order to remind all of you that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Honest!  Creating a special one-on -one occasion is a snap when you raid your cupboards, and/or your local priced-right stores. Whether you are in-like or in-lust .   .   . presentation is where it’s at!!!

The silk and gold embroidered sari featured in the photo above, was one of my lucky finds in Malaysia for pennies. I let this stunning fabric rest on the table unstructured, much like  billowing clouds floating by. The place settings are a mix of vintage and new, hand painted stemware, candles in Asian holders, mixed with a votive floating in each re-purposed martini glass. My accent piece is a very old beaded tassel from Morocco. Someone just said, what’s for dinner? Oh that’s pretty easy. A menu of Malaysian food, which is heavily influenced by Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, and Indian.

Ahhhhh .   .   . yes .   .  . there really is very little that can top an interlude of dining complete with ambient lighting .   .   . and .   .   . a knock him/her dead tablescape to boot. Now dessert is a whole other scenario! Pictured below, sitting on a vintage pewter tray, are a pair of hand sculpted, whimsically painted footed cups with one matching dessert dish. A miniature of a bell boy stands ready to cast a soft light on a faux pearl tassel,  napkins, dessert forks and teaspoons. What was that you just said?  I think I will leave your choice of dessert up to you!!!
