Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness” Eleanor Roosevelt. True .   .   . but I say .   .   . one candle is never enough!!!

Liken the quantity of candles you ultimately chose for your tablescape, or room, to the story of The Three Bears. People, come on .   .   . I know you all remember how one was too small .   .   . the next one was wayyyyy too big .   .   . and then.   .   . ahh .   .   . the last one was just right?  The photo below showing a portion of the thirty two (32) assorted heights and sizes of candles used on this tablescape. Mm hmm .   .   . you read it correctly .   .   . a mix of thirty two (32) white and shell white tapers, silver pillars bejeweled w/Swarovski crystals, silver finished potted candles, and glass mottled gold and silver votives. To give the taller flames a place to bedazzle the eye, I added gorgeous crystal strands that hang from the chandelier that I found in an antique mall for pennies. Lucky find! The lower potted candles, and votives are perfect to show-off the spectacular ‘dance of the shimmering flame’ reflecting off of the various heights of crystal stemware and candle holders.

The photo below gives you a good view of eight place settings on a white purposely crumpled looking linen cloth. Why on earth use a crumpled cloth you ask? Because it is my interpretation of a winter wonderland blended with pops of silver and gold throughout this table. I alternated gold and silver chargers, and stacked them with vintage Royal Dalton china (French Provincial pattern). Topping off with alternating white-on-white, and green-on-green napkins, are green glass pedestal dishes, finished off with clusters of clear or green glass grapes for that extra bling. The silverware is vintage Reed and Barton Diamond pattern. Silver tassels cradle the base of some of the candle holders, but not all. People .   .   . a parting word .   .   . if all of a sudden you find yourself going for the matchy-matchy all around .   .   . take a break .   .   .  come to your creative senses !!!
