Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®
Before showing you one of my upcoming Thanksgiving table centerpieces, I want to take a moment to thank all of our Veterans and their families who have served, and sacrificed more than we will ever know, for our country. Thank you.
The photo below is how most of my centerpieces begin. With a single bowl, tray, pot, a textile remnant, or a good fistful of wheat. How can you not use what comes from the earth to depict and celebrate Thanksgiving? So with that thought tickling my brain, I headed off to find bits and pieces of earth. On my way into the market I spotted these beauties shown lying in my vintage dough bowl. People, what else could I do but go with the flow . . . right? Sooo . . . I popped them into my basket along with a smattering of dried pods. Now the tickling in my brain was replaced with a huge vibration that would probably measure an 8 pointer on the Richter scale! Seriously!

Now I am standing serenely in line waiting to check out while inside my head. . . OMG . . . I am doing a very happy victory dance for yet another new idea to bring to the table. Take a second and peruse the photo below . . . nah . . . just joking . . . take as long as you like. This entire centerpiece will sit center stage come Thanksgiving Day. Last week I did a mock-up place setting that will in fact share this year’s Thanksgiving dining table (http://wp.me/p3E2rZ-38N). As you all know, I am a candle-holic and feed my habit regularly. The table below will have some of my vintage copper candle holders as well as tons of votive holders placed here, there and everywhere. The menu? Hmmm . . . now that’s food for thought!!!
