Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®
Excuse me . . . did you say cheesy? I am definitely not cheesy! Oh sorry, you’re referring to today’s subject. Phew! Lol… a lot! It’s not reeeeally about cheese . . . well . . . maybe sorta, kinda . . . but not.

Did a few of you just murmur ‘I have a knife for cheese’ . . . mm hm. Yes, yes, I’ve seen some kitchen drawers filled with, excuse the expression a knife for cutting cheese. Are you still rummaging around your drawers people? People, people, please . . . I always come with the best of intentions. O k don’t get excited this won’t take long . . . promise. I snapped the photo above for this morning/evenings’ show and tell. I’m happy to see all of you have left the kitchen, with or without a cheese knife in hand. At this point I say ‘put down the knife’ and read on.
I have laid out an assortment of cheese knives for you to check out. But before I give you the simple . . . not complex . . . which one is for what guide, take a look at the smaller wood tray at the top of photo. The black handle standing above the smaller wood tray is attached to a fine wire blade that will gladly slice through a piece of semi-soft cheese faster than you can say cheese! For a quick side-note . . . I have had this tray for . . . mmm . . . age not relevant, except when it comes to cheese !!! Having said all of the above please note . . . handled knives with prongs at the tip are best for semi-soft cheese, while the clever at the bottom of the board is great for hard cheeses. I neglected to add into my show and tell a round Lucite multi-pronged doodad, the size of a fifty cent piece, that is perfect for holding a piece of cheese in place while slicing. Also pictured are an assortment of soft cheese spreaders. The round turquoise ball is sitting on top of an itty-bitty, teeny-weeny, cheese grater . . . that I bought at The Catalina Kitchen Store, in Redondo Beach, CA . . . sooo cute!!! I plan on putting one of these fun cutie pies at each place setting with a hunk of Parmesan and let my guests go at it!

As seen above I mix my cheese trays with other goodies, that include almond stuffed olives, fig jam, several mustards, and, and, and . . . I think you get the idea! I usually set out more then one tray because . . . one tray piled high and wide gets kind of messy and nasty looking, with knives getting slippery and… well . . .just saying!
