Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

It’s not about how much you do .   .  . but how you do it! .    .    .

Hmmm .  .   . for you over the toppers .   .   . oh please! .   .  . hello! .   .   . not only do you know who you are .   .  .  but I see you .   .   . yes, you in the corner .  .   .  as well as you who’s looking anywhere but here.  Fine .   .   . no worries .   .   . if you change your mind .   .   . I’m always just a click away.

Above is a place setting with all the bells and whistles needed to create a warm, and ‘happy to have you’ setting without breaking the bank, or your back! The place mat is an actual preserved lotus leaf, large enough for a whole place setting  .   .   . I kid you not! Each place setting begins with an Asian rosewood stand holding a fluted white ceramic dinner plate, that in turn holds a smaller rosewood stand slightly larger so as to frame the small odd shaped white bowl topping off this setting. The odd shaped bowl works in harmony and balance with the fluted edges of the dinner plate, while quietly waiting for cold cherry/honeydew soup, with a dollop of sour cream and a dash of chives. With the soup red, the white of the sour cream, and green chives, your color palette is almost complete. I added a sage napkin, green glazed pot holding a votive. The glazed pot is a perfect facilitator to help bounce some shimmer, and sparkle around the table. I added   a vintage Chinese tin, filled with t-lites .   .   . very flattering up lights. Vine wrapped napkin holder, with a small bundle of vine twigs, tied off with white cord.

Each of the 6 rosewood trays that I will use tomorrow evening will vary slightly in size and design, as will the vintage tins and votive holders .   .   . of course, unlike my table setting everyone will get the same dinner!   OMG .   .   .  I know, I know .   .   . most of you don’t have Asian rosewood stands lying around .    .    . sooo .   .   .  this is where you get to create. .   .   . Think remnants of wood, stacked broken pieces of unmatched tile, marble etc.

Below is a close-up of the  above individual lighting segment that makes a table interesting, without over-doing!
