Dishing it up / with Sharon Insul

Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®

Ooooee it’s hot .   .   . hot .   .   . hotttt .    .    . I kid  you not !!!

I can’t speak for the rest of you .   .   . butttt .   .   . if it’s not chilled, blended, frothy, or whipped, don’t look for me at the table. Speaking of tables, I happen to have a few (well, more than a few) easy summer tablescapes in my repertoire. Say again? Oh please .   .   . why so surprised? You do know what I do .   .   . right?

Patience people I am getting there .   .   . promise.

Think simple tablescape, simple menu, and simple to clean up.  Uh .   .   . whoa, whoa, whoa .   .   . simple doesn’t mean throw it on the table and be done with it!!!   No, no, no, people please there is still room for a little bit of decorum. Sooo having said all of the above, let me present one of my ideas for the .   .   . oh it’s ‘sooo too-hot’ alternative. Ice cold refreshing soup. I kid you not .   .   . pictured below is a tall frothy glass of watermelon soup, with sour cream wrapped around the rim .   .   . and a straw to top it all off, unless you prefer a spoon.

The photo below, with one of my ‘happy finds’ blue pedestal vintage ‘moderne’ compote dish, has been chilled in the freezer, just waiting to hold the soup du jour that will be added at the very last minute, keeping it cold to the very last drop! Ahhh the spoon .   .   . hee hee .   .   . I was hoping you would notice. Mm hmm yup! The spoon is for Asian soup .   .   .  but does not come with a warning label forbidding its use with any other foods!  YAY!!!  People, people, people      .     .    . create, improvise, think out-of-the-box! The rest of the dinner? Come back next week for the next course .   .   .
