“May Gray”, “June Gloom”, “No Sky July”, and “Fogust August” are familiar terms in Southern California. For those of you who wish to be in the know, these clever labels come from a combination of atmospheric and oceanic conditions. Enough said! I personally wish to focus on our more well known reputation of being “Sunny Southern California”, “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, “Tinsel Town”, as well as acres rich in miles of well trodden “Red Carpet Awards”. . and our sunny hospitality, regardless of the weather conditions.
What to do? What to do when there is no sunshine ??? Hmm . . . that’s any easy one. Take one lush garden, add a long enough table to fill with tons of family and friends . . . and then . . .
Dig out all those ‘to pretty to use dishes’ . . . come on, you know . . . the ones you’re ‘saving’ for ???????? that occasion! The same ones that are still wrapped in your wedding gift boxes, or, or, ORRR the ones hidden wayyyy in the back of your closet! Time to shake all those goodies loose . . . WOW . . . sooooo exciting, and cathartic . . . I promise you! Wait . . . I’m not done yet. Grab those sea shells you’ve been collecting over the years, and fill a glass bowl, a vase, tie them in small bunches of netting, or, scatter some of them around the table. As a side note, I am beginning to think that the word OR has become one of my very favorite words . . . because it gives me options . . . tons of options to keep adding, and adding, and adding!
