Come sit with me for awhile . . .
and see what I’m bringing to the table ®
If you can layer your clothes, why can’t you layer your table?

The photo above marks the beginnings of a beautiful friendship, but even friendships need a little bit more than just a pat on the back . . . right? I mean . . . hello . . . a plate, and two forks? That’s like a cake without the icing, a hot dog without the fixings, or a movie without popcorn . . . ! I ask you . . . what’s that all about? Sooo BORING!
Now have a look at the layered tablescape below. Yahoo! Let there be a smorgasbord of light, pops of color, sparkle, layers, and layers, and layers, of eye candy, just screaming . . . please “come sit with me for awhile . . . and see what I’m bringing to the table.”®

What was that? You want specifics . . . layer, by layer, by layer . . . sure, I can handle that. My first layer is a French table cloth, with a motif of colored grapes, showcased against a French blue background that is splashed on to a vibrant golden yellow background, with accents of sage colored leaves. Next came my blue on white patterned dinner plate, and companion bread and butter plate. Hang on a second! The real fun begins on the next layer of dishes. For a snappy hello, I brought out my ‘moderne’ cobalt blue, knock your socks off, salad plates, and topped them off with very hard to find late 1930’s-early 1940’s blue Manhattan glass compotes . . . yikes! Even I can’t wait to sit down! What was that? No. . . not done yet! Oh please . . . geeeeez! I said layers . . . remember? Each compote dish is filled with glass grapes, and regally sits on top of, an in your face sunshine yellow napkin, with a side of twigs.
The centerpiece is a huge vintage dough wood bowl, brimming with a variety of glass, and edible grapes with the vines still attached. Papayas, pears, and mangoes further emphasize the lushness of Mother Nature’s bounty, and hints of untold edible treasures for dinner.
Don’t forget the mood lighting . . . candles, candles, candles. Candles in candle holders, strategically placed about the table, with tons of votive holders for a little, up lighting . . . sooo flattering!!! Soft piano music. For the best burn, keep the wicks cut to between 1/4 – 3/8 inch in length.
This week . . . the girls made an appearance in England, at this years London Book Fair . . . . I AM SOOO LUCKY!!! 3 books Now available on Amazon.
