From stunning to stellar, utilizing a good portion of the decorations from my more classic table setting featured two weeks ago. Stay with me, and I’ll walk you through my secret re-purposing of this newest tablescape. Gone are the clusters of glass grapes, classic grape motif table cloth, complete with blue color place settings. Striving for a more casual but intimate fall experience for two, I scaled down the size of the center piece, x’d out the tablecloth. and went with a more earthy/ lived in look. By taking full advantage of my ginormous glass table, resting on two huge tree trunks foraged from the wilds of Conneticut, I took the ‘easy-peasy’ a là Sharon route, and went with a more earthy/ lived fall feel. Whoa! .   .   . Mmm mm .   .   . I never said I don’t fudge a teeny-weeny bit on occasion. Class pay attention .   .   . before you judge moi .   .   . take a breath .   .   . thank you. Now people let’s have a closer look at my casual setting. First off, double click on the 2nd photo above, and take special notice of the center piece .   .   . ah ha !!! You see, things are not always as they seem. While eliminating the glitter/shmitter, I gathered the essence of fall, and presented the coming season in all its glory. I used a wreath of fall leaves, intertwined with faux grapes of a rustic tone, in keeping with the gigantic pine cones, gourds, pumpkin, and stalks of Indian corn complete with husks attached. Now people look very closely .   .   . ah ha .   .   .  do you see the two metal looking corn husk candle holders that I used in the first table above? Re-purpose, re-invent, re-use! Waste not, want not! Take note of the red cake stand holding t-lites for that pop of color, adding a slight twist to keep you on your toes!

The 2nd table was set last night, for two, and filled with candlelight. As it turned out we had a black out!!! Yes indeed .   .   . A full fledged New York City type blackout, however this one was a mere two hours. How did I know the blackout was happening??? No more delightful jazz, and no more main course!!! Pouf went the electric oven with my wonderfully, partially cooked, almond encrusted chicken! But .   .   . yes people, there was a happy ending .   .   . my salad is never mixed with less than 10 ingredients, and last night’s served up about 15 savory tid-bits, mixed with one of my, little of this and little of that dressings. Add a side serving of batter encrusted red potatoes, and mushrooms warming in the oven .   .   . Correct .   .   . we did not go hungry .   .   . as for the chicken, yipppeeee! .   .   . no cooking tonight!!!
