Come sit with me for awhile…
and see what I’m bringing to the table®
How many of you have been called tray chic . . . or . . . did they say très chic ??? Well, why not go for both? First, click on the above photo so that you can get up close and personal . . . thanks. Now move around as if you’re on a dance floor . . . glide as if you’ve got gossamer wings, and own the place! No, no it’s all good . . . I’ll wait . . . just so you know . . . you can click again, and again to visit anytime your knowledge thirsty mind needs a fix . . . promise.
So kids, I pulled a few of my trays for today’s show and tell . . . Ahhh excellent !!! . . . you picked up on the . . . not all trays are created equal thread, that meanders through the above photo. To those of you that picked up on it instantly . . . I say . . . people you ‘done me proud.’ My tray selection was not done helter-skelter . . . mmm mm . . . I pulled the collection in the above photo shoot, in order to give you a taste of many possible looks. If you take another peek above . . . from very large vintage wooden bread boards, handle hammered aluminum trays, a petit china plate, oval copper, simple white hand painted tray with handles to . . . What’s this . . . a small striped lap tray, on top of a foot stool, and stack of books in front . . . YUP!!! Uh . . . did you also happen to notice the black square box tucked in behind the Asian motif trivet set on top of the foot stool? Nooo . . . I’ll wait. All set??? Read on…
I made the executive decision, as to which tray to pull from the above photo for purposes of tray-scaping. Ah ha!!! . . . you noticed . . . mais oui (English for . . . yes) . . . but of course I did just create the word ! . . . tray-scaping . . . why not? It’s what I do . . . create!!! N’est-ce pas. So,you’re asking about my choice of a mere trivet set atop a stack of books being used as a tray . . . Actually anything that is flat within my grasp, and I do mean anything . . . is fair game!!! An evening espresso set, has been gathered atop this very colorful vintage trivet found in a flea market for pennies. The stack of colorful books it rests on could, and has been used for a stack of dessert plates, or a tray of pastries. A soft single silk tassel has been intertwined for that touch of subtle drama, while tying in the dessert napkins trimmed in white baby pearls. I added demi-tasse spoons embellished with semi-precious looking stones for the final touch. Tray chic or . . . très chic???
