No .   .   . I’m not trying to snow any of you with my ‘VERY’ pretty tablescape .   .   . because we all know some of you have been snowed enough!!!

Click on the above tablescape, and walk yourself through the many, many layers of textiles .   .   . both new and vintage. From an old quilt to vintage pieces of lace, blended with a   gorgeous piece of (tattered in places) vintage Sari fabric from Bangkok, running the full length of my tablescape. Yes .   .   . you did read it correctly .   .   . not just tattered, but ripped in places from use. How I managed to conceal the worn spots is not a mystery, just a slight of hand .   .   . or maybe a twist of my wrist!  Not to worry .   .   . there just isn’t any such thing as too many layers when it comes to celebrating the explosion of Spring!

I have decided to ignore the snickers I hear coming from a few of you .   .   . why? Please     .   .   . the answer is sooo simple. Well, well, well .   .   . in spite of some of you snickering, you have decided to hang around to hear me out. Thank you. I’m going to tell you why         .   .   .but enough with the humpfing, tsk-tsking, and exaggerated exhales! As it turns out some of you are close to home bound due to the awful weather, so I have decided to make every effort to transport you to a ‘happy place’. Oh yes I really can .   .   . just stick around long enough to feel the magic! I get that some of you are ‘Winter Wonderland Captives’, and literally can’t move far from your old homestead .   .   . not my doing by the way .   .   . but as it has been repeated gazillions of times .   .   . this too shall pass .   .   . promise. Inclement weather or not .   .   . tick-tock, tick-tock .   .   . Spring is on it’s way.

O k let’s get to that ‘happy place’ I mentioned. It’s a place filled with brilliant colors (as in the above photo) ‘happily’ co-existing literally side by side, and without a whisper of a complaint. Patience    .   .   . I am getting to the point. Think fields of violets and lavender, splashed against the brilliance of a blue sky .   .   . or a summer sun at high noon, blended with the soft blush of a fresh pink rose petal. Are you feeling it yet? .   .   . No? Close your eyes .   .   . no peeking! Take a deep breath, go ahead splurge .   .   . take one more deep breath .   .   . now let it out, while keeping your eyes closed. People .   .   . this is not difficult .   .   . eyes closed .   .   . two deep breaths, and visualize. Ahh ha .   .   . please don’t rush on my account. Go ahead while you’re there .   .   . run through the fields of flowers. Sure, walking will work. Mmmm .   .  . I see you’re feeling it now. Excellent .   .   . read on .   .   . so now you have explosions of lush and brilliant colors dancing in your head .   .   . right? Stay with me for the fun part! It’s scavenger hunt time!!! Yayyy!!! You think you know every itsy-bitsy piece of this n’ that in your closets .   .   . Nah!!! .   .   . not by a long shot! You don’t believe me .   .   . when you’re done reading, think ‘out-of the-box’, and scavenge. Whether you’re setting a table or refreshing a room .   .   . you will be amazed at what you have lurking in your cupboards!!!

Don’t forget clusters of votives in cups, to be used as up lights that are always flattering, but not intrusive. (trim wick to 1/4”- 3/8” before burning) Please burn candles responsibly.
