Snow people don’t get yourselves all worked up over my very good fortune of having this sunlit courtyard out my front door.  I truly am not here to taunt or tease any of you ‘very’ cold weather people .   .   . truly I’m not! .   .   . Um, excuse me .   .   . do you think I can’t hear some of you tsk-tsking??? I happen to be blessed with global hearing .   .   . Mm hmm .   .   . actually, I do get the tsk-tsking .   .   . really!  It’s o k .   .   .  I knew in advance that there would be a few of you who are understandably unhappy snow, sleet, and hail campers. Soooo .   .   . here’s the deal .  .   . I’m asking you nicely .   .   . please don’t shoot the messenger!!! Why you ask, am I not fair game? .   .   . because .   .   . I come bearing very good news, and some good old fashioned inspiration. Yes, yes, honest!

Just so you all know .   .   . we out in sunny Southern California have our own weather glitches .   .   . what you don’t get our weather conditions? Which glitch, such as our three year drought, devastating fires followed by floods, are you not getting? Hmmm! The point of this weather report brought to you by none other is .   .   . there really isn’t anywhere in the world that has blooming roses all the time.

O k everyone here’s the point .   .   . If you don’t have a a sunny courtyard, backyard, balcony, or rooftop .   .   . take it inside !!! Just because it’s howling outside, doesn’t mean it can’t be Spring-like inside .   .  . right? Shhhh, calm yourselves .   .   . have you ever noticed how one kind of music can set a mood, and then by changing the type of music your mood changes. Soooo, girls and boys .   .   . it’s time to change the music!!!

Whether I set the table seen in the photo above, on the outside or inside of my home, my mood is definitely screaming .   .   . Spring is on its way! Now is the time to hit your closets, and dig out your tablecloths, quilts, sheets, or even a couple brightly colored beach towels will do the trick. No .   .   . you don’t think so? Well .   .   .  take a second, to digest my theory of a mood changer .   .   . and then get back to me. No worries, I’ll wait. Ahhh      .    .     . good  .   .   . phew  .    .    . I thought I lost you in a snow drift. Now that you’re back in the warmth of my sunshine, we can move on .   .   . o k? It’s all good .   .   . you’ll see. So  you’ve picked several different textiles to be layered on your table .   .   . sorry .   .   . you haven’t picked them out yet .   .   . hmmmm .   .   . how about you read on with the rest of us, and then jump in when you’re feeling comfy, and decision oriented. Oh, and once you do get into the moment, have a go at picking out your most cheerful dishes. People, whatever you do .   .   . oh please .   .   . I know how some of you operate .   .   .  no matchy-matchy, but playful, unexpected, and quirky will definitely work! Above all .   .   . Candles, candles, and yes .   .   . more candles. Think of them as rays of sunshine.

Remember this table is celebrating Spring, not Winter. Easy people .   .   . remain calm, I’m not taking your Winter away .   .   . I’m merely bringing you some much needed sunshine.

Don’t forget clusters of votives in cups, to be used as up lights that are always flattering, but not intrusive. (trim wick to 1/4”- 3/8” before burning) Please burn candles responsibly.
